All the Important Details!

You’ll need to bring a few things so....... Packing List!

 

Pack your clothing and gear into a backpack or duffle.  Limit it to one or two bags and avoid any loose or extra bulky items.  Do not pack in disposable plastic bags as they will be damaged and can lead to damaged or lost belongings.

 

PACKING CHECKLIST

  • Sleeping bag

  • Pillow

  • Water bottle

  • Headlamp

  • Calculator, pen, mechanical pencil

  • Toothbrush/toothpaste

  • Clothes for a week, rain and shine (Quick-dry, fleece and wool are all good choices.  Cotton/denim is very cold and uncomfortable in wet conditions).  Besides the "regulars", include the following:​

    • Two layers of sweater/hoodie/fleece

    • Rain jacket

    • Sturdy shoes or light hiking boots

    • Light footwear for around camp (sandal, croc, runner etc.)

    • Hat/toque

CODE OF CONDUCT

Discovery Project is committed to providing inspired, immersive, practical and unforgettable education.

To ensure a safe and productive experience, we insist that all discovery project participants commit to this code of conduct. 

 

We believe that everything is better when we act with LOVE.  When we are patient, kind, humble, respectful, generous, slow to anger, caring, and honest.  There are a million ways to act, behave and express ourselves in a loving way.

 

On the other hand, certain conduct is not allowed during Discovery Project activities or at a Discovery Project site.  Violations will result in corrective actions and/or immediate dismissal:

 

CURFEW AND NO-GO ZONES - Breaking curfew means being out of assigned accommodations after the designated curfew time without express permission.  No-go zones will be communicated to students on site.  At no time are boys allowed in the girls accommodation or girls allowed in the boys accommodation.

 

HARASSMENT - Repeated comments or conduct that is known or ought to be known as unwelcome. 

 

ASSAULT - Physical assault or aggression causing bodily harm, or the serious threat of physical aggression with the intent to cause harm. 

 

PROFANITY - Swearing, or the use of obscene language. 

 

WEAPONS - Possession, use of, or threat to use a weapon. 

 

SEXUAL MISCONDUCT - Engaging in sexual contact or activity with another student or staff member, consensual or not.

 

ALCOHOL - Consumption or possession of alcohol.

 

ILLEGAL DRUGS - Use or possession of illegal drugs and/or paraphernalia.

 

SMOKING/VAPING - Use of cigarettes, vaporizers or tobacco products. 

 

CANNABIS - Use or possession of cannabis. 

 

THEFT - Taking or possessing property without the permission of the owner. 

 

VANDALISM - Acts of vandalism or the willful destruction of property.
